Twitter mourns as Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan's fairy-tale romance ends in separation

The Twitter reaction to Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan's separation announcement Monday was immediate — and very, very sad — about the seeming end to this fairy-tale Hollywood relationship.

The duo, married nearly nine years after meeting on the set of the 2006 movie Step Up, announced in a joint statement:

"We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now."

Former Bachelor star Amanda Stanton, who has seen her share of heartbreak, tweeted: "Way more emotional (than) I should be over Channing & Tatum splitting up."

Chrisley Knows Best star Savannah Chrisley tweeted that love is officially done.

"Love doesn't even exist anymore. I mean Channing Tatum and his wife are getting divorced," she wrote. "If they can't make it no one can haha."

Singer Sophie Choudry wrote that Step Up "will never feel the same!"

Author Danny Pellegrino, host of the pop culture podcast "Everything Iconic," sent out a Twitter GIF of a mourning cry, "How could you to this to me?"

"I know it's not about me, but the Channing Tatum/Jenna Dewan breakup news is devastating and I can't handle it right now," he wrote.

Twitter user tammy. wrote, "I officially don't believe in love anymore" and added another tweet saying "April's officially cancelled."

Comic Sarah Cooper asked that people "respect my privacy during this difficult time."

YouTuber Lauren Meisner wrote that she will "never recover" from the news.
