This picture of Reese Witherspoon throwing an ice cream cone at Meryl Streep is sweet
“Big Little Lies” fans are in for a treat.
An on-the-set photo shows Reese Witherspoon hurling an ice cream cone at Meryl Streep's head while shooting Season 2 of the darkly comedic drama on Tuesday.
The Oscar-winning actresses are both in character during the snapshot.
Witherspoon is dressed as Madeline Martha Mackenzie and Streep as Mary Louise Wright, the mother-in-law of Nicole Kidman’s character, Celeste.
One fan questioned Witherspoon’s aim: “I am praying Reese pelts Meryl with that ice cream. #BigLittleLies.”
The actress replied: "Oh Matt! No need to pray. I got her!” She included an ice cream cone and bullseye emoji.
Although a picture is worth a thousand words, it isn't clear what led to this sweet showdown. Rest assured, fans will be able to see this moment on television when Season 2 premieres in 2019.
HBO announced in January that Streep would join the Emmy Award-winning miniseries.
