Lay's unveils 3 finalists for $1 million 'Do Us A Flavor' potato chip contest

What is your $1 million chip idea?
That was the question posed by Lay's last year in their Do Us A Flavor contest that generated more than 700,000 submissions from fans across the country.
The chip company on Wednesday unveiled the three finalists and now it will be up to fans to decide which flavor will be crowned the winner.
According to Lay's, the three finalists are:
- Lay's Bacon Grilled Cheese
- Lay's Valentina & Lime
- Lay's Wavy Korean-Style Fried Chicken
Between April 21 and June 13, customers are invited to try the three flavors, available in stores nationwide, and vote for their favorite at DoUsAFlavor.com.
Past winners include flavors such as Lay's Crispy Taco, Lay's Southern Biscuits & Gravy and Lay's Cheesy Garlic Bread, among others.
Here's what to know about each of the three finalists.
Lay's Bacon Grilled Cheese
According to Lay's, this flavor was submitted by Paula George from Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
"This finalist is a savory, nostalgic ode combining two of everyone's favorites – bacon & grilled cheese," Lay's said in a news release.
The company said George drew inspiration from her late father's bacon grilled cheese recipe and "hopes the flavor will bring fans the memory of a delicious home-cooked meal, enjoyed on the cheesy crunch of a Lay's potato chip," according to the news release.
Lay's Valentina & Lime
This flavor, submitted by Araceli Huerta from San Jose, California, is a "zesty, fiery finalist" that packs a punch, according to Lay's.
"The flavor calls back to Huerta's favorite childhood snack made by her mom, a bag of Lay's Classic potato chips tossed with Valentina hot sauce and fresh lime," Lay's said in a news release.
Lay's Wavy Korean-Style Fried Chicken
This flavor was submitted by Neelia Lynn from Chesterfield, Virginia, according to Lay's, and draws inspiration from her family's time in South Korea.
"A little bit spicy, a little bit sweet, Wavy Korean-Style Friend Chicken is here to add some street-food flair to the snack aisle," Lay's said in the news release.
