Make Thanksgiving candy jars for sweet Thanksgiving table treats

Want an ultra sweet way to show your loved ones how sweet they are to you? Phoenix-based blogger, author and artist Kathy Cano-Murillo of CraftyChica.com has an ingeniously simple suggestion: just add candy and some grateful sentiments to a candy jar you’ve decorated just for them.

Use the decorated jars as place cards at the Thanksgiving table or give them as parting gifts to family members as a small token of your love.

Find supplies for this simple craft at your local craft store. Photos can be printed on demand on a mini printer (such as the HP Sprocket), or at your local photo lab or on your home printer.

Supplies:

Mini printer and paper

Glass jars

Washi tape

Assorted Thanksgiving candy

Glitter decorations and embellishments

Glue or double-sided tape

First steps

Before you begin, clean and dry the jars. Fill each jar with candy and attach the lid.

Print an image of each family member with your mini printer. Alternately, have the photos printed at your local photo lab, or print them on your home printer.

Decorate the jar

Wrap Thanksgiving-themed washi tape around the jar to create a pretty background for the photo. Add a Thanksgiving decoration on top of the jar.

Place a photo where the washi tape ends meet on the jar. Mini printers often have self-stick photo paper, so you can simply remove the backing and stick the photo to the jar. If you are using an alternate method to print the photos, use double-sided tape or glue to adhere the photo to the jar.

Stick any additional glitter embellishments to the jar as desired. You can also tie a pretty ribbon around the neck of the jar.
