Cavanaugh Bell was planning on buying toys with the money he saved. But instead, the seven-year-old boy found another use for the dollars by giving back to seniors in his community. 

"Anyone can have an impact no matter their age," he said.

Spreading goodness in our families and communities might be officially celebrated on Feb. 17 with Random Acts of Kindness Day, but these videos show it's a year-round affair.

Everyday people show how meaningful gestures can improve the lives of those around them in the warmest and most unexpected of ways.

A pair of barbers wanted to show their client battling cancer that she isn't alone in her fight, so they shaved their heads in solidarity.

  • Be kind to your server at the coffee shop or restaurant
  • Ask a senior about the past
  • Write a handwritten letter
  • Befriend a new kid at school or colleague at work
  • Thank or compliment someone every week
  • Pick up trash around town
  • Be polite on the road (we know, this one can be the hardest!)
