This sweet child's reaction to hearing for the first time will melt your heart

Four-year-old Sawyer Lenglin heard his family for the first time after undergoing cochlear implant surgery in Toronto, Canada. He was diagnosed with Pendred syndrome and has been deaf and hard of hearing since birth.
"That's the biggest smile I've ever seen him do," his mother Christina said as Sawyer beamed at his family, hearing their voices for the first time.

Christina said she wants her son's story to bring light to access issues surrounding hearing surgery and American Sign Language (ASL).
"In Canada, surgery and the first set of cochlear are free, and every five years, Sawyer and many other individuals in the same situation as Sawyer will have to pay out of pocket."
