An Atlanta couple's Valentine's Day tradition took an unexpected and celebratory turn at their favorite Waffle House.
It began as a playful stunt last year. John Cox invited his girlfriend, Julie Massey, to a "fine dining" reservation which had them both well-dressed and ready for a fancy dinner, only to pull up to an Atlanta-area Waffle House. This year, Cox upped the ante, enlisting the help of their favorite waitress, Kayla, who made a special appearance on her day off to help him pop the question with style.

Stating his case that, "It takes a real man to make a Waffle House romantic," John presented a diamond ring, while Massey joked that she only got him beef jerky for the occasion.
