A simple question changed the lives of this stepdad and stepson forever.
When Lisa Arana first got together with Raul, her son Ezra found it hard to connect with her new partner.
“Ezra had his guard up with Raul,” said Lisa.
Gradually, the relationship thawed, but Lisa was still caught off guard when her husband offered to adopt the 11-year-old.
“I was in shock but very happy to accept,” she said.
However, neither expected the boy's emotional reaction when Raul asked Ezra if he'd officially become his son.
