Good news: Airman surprises mom in the middle of Cracker Barrel

Christian Finenely takes pride in being a momma's boy. The E2 Airman in the United States Air Force has had two constants in his young life, a love for his mom, Michelle, and a love for airplanes.
"I really just wanna fly jets, says Christian. "[I] plan on commissioning in four years and going to flight school and flying, F 30 fives."
For that to happen, he has to pay his dues and he began doing so with basic training.
"They put you through a lot and try to break you down," he says. "And just all of that on top of the homesickness was just rough."
It was equally rough for his mom, but she understood that the heartache was justified, and fully supported Christian's big ambition. "So he was, you know, just built up to it and more and more wanted to fly those jets,” she says. “So, I'm his biggest cheerleader. I miss him a lot when he is gone for sure. but I know he is living out his dream."
While he was away in Texas, Christian and his mom kept in touch the old school way by becoming penpals. Michelle wrote a letter every day, and Christian responded when his schedule allowed. But it was nothing like meeting face-to-face. So, when Christian finally got the chance to take leave and return to his hometown, Atlanta, he decided to do something special.

Together with one of his mom's friends, he hatched a plot to spring a breakfast time surprise at a local restaurant. But little did he know that Michelle had a surprise up her sleeve as well.
