'Strange Rumblings' in surf adventure

You know a surf movie is going to be a strange adventure when an ice-breaker is required to hit the waves on the frigid shores of Iceland.
Strange Rumblings in Shangri-La features director Joe G (née (Guglielmino) taking a team of world-class surfers in search of surfing's holy grail, with a few wine-inspired detours. They travel from Iceland to spots in Europe, Mozambique, Brazil and Indonesia.
"It's as simple as the relentless search for perfection in a wave and a place," Joe G says in this video interview.
The trip to Iceland required the warmest wet suits possible.
"The challenge was how do we go to this beautiful place that's also incredibly cold," he says. "And then somehow score these waves and get this performance."
The group never found the mythical Shangri-La.
"We didn't, and yet we found it everywhere," says Joe G.
Check out this video hearing him talk about the adventure with a team that included Dion Agius, Nate Tyler, Taj Burrow, Yadin Nicol and Damien Hobgood.
Strange Rumblings in Shangri-La is traveling the surf industry award shows and select U.S. festivals. It is available on iTunes and on DVD/Blu-Ray.
