President Obama's favorite movie of the year?

It's Boyhood.

President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama sat down for an interview with People magazine and revealed some of their favorite things for 2014.

"Boyhood was a great movie. That, I think, was my favorite movie this year," the president says.

Mrs. Obama didn't seem to offer up her favorite.

Birdman, The Theory of Everything, Selma, The Grand Budapest Hotel and The Imitation Game are among the leading contenders, earning nominations from various groups. Maybe it's one of those.

When asked about viral videos, the president said he doesn't sit around scrolling through YouTube. But daughters, Malia, 16, and Sasha, 13, have shown him some good ones.

"My favorite of all time, I think, was BatDad," the president said, laughing, referring to a 2013 video featuring a father dressed like Batman. "Whoever BatDad is out there, man, I was into your thing."

He was quick to add that one of his favorites videos was his wife's work. "Clearly, the most astonishing Vine this year was Michelle and the turnip," Obama said. "I mean, let's face it – who else can make a turnip into a star but Michelle Obama?"
