'Wonder Woman' snares a new director


Director Patty Jenkins will step in to helm the upcoming Wonder Woman movie.

The Hollywood Reporter . and Deadline.com reported the news Monday evening.

Warner Bros. moved quickly after parting ways Monday with Michelle MacLaren, who dropped out of the Wonder Woman project due to creative differences, according to THR.

Jenkins will now will become the first female director to handle a big project in Warner's developing DC universe.

Jenkins had been attached and then left the second Thor movie, citing creative differences with Marvel Entertainment at the time.

The Wonder Woman project has been slotted for 2017 and has Gal Gadot attached to star.
