Josh Brolin is engaged to ex-assistant

Josh Brolin is trying marriage for a third time: He's engaged to Kathryn Boyd, a model and his former personal assistant.

US Weekly had the news that Brolin, twice married and the father of two grown children, and Boyd got engaged last month. Then they turned up in Cabo San Lucas in Mexico to celebrate with a group of pals.

People also confirmed it.

Brolin's rep did not answer emails as the congrats piled up on Twitter.

It will be a third trip down the aisle for Brolin, whose divorce from Diane Lane was finalized in November 2013, shortly after he and Boyd began dating.

His first wife, Alice Adair, is the mother of his two children, Trevor, 26, and Eden, 20.

The engagement is not entirely a surprise. Back in January, Brolin was practically gushing about Boyd and his current state of happiness and relaxation, in an interview with Paste BN.

"I'm in a totally different space," he said. "I'm the happiest I've ever been, other than having my kids. I wake up in the morning and I'm actually happy."

In recent years, Brolin has been in the headlines mostly for unhappy reasons: Back in 2013 he checked into rehab after numerous arrests and instances of public intoxication.

Brolin, 47, is the son of James Brolin and thus the stepson of Barbra Streisand.

He's currently voicing the role of purple-skinned Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, and last appeared in the comedy Inherent Vice, playing a 70s-era straight-edged cop nicknamed "Bigfoot," who is doggedly chasing down a hippie private detective played by Joaquin Phoenix.
