'Independence Day 2' gets a new title

Independence Day isn't just coming back, it's re-surging.

The sequel to the 1996 alien disaster film has a new title, which was announced at a live-streamed press conference Tuesday night with director Roland Emmerich and members of the cast, straight from the set of the new movie. It was revealed that the film will be called Independence Day: Resurgence, rather than Independence Day 2.

The press conference took place in front of two large set pieces for the film, one that appeared to be a a fighter jet modified with alien technology, and the other Emmerich called the "Moon Tug."

You can watch the entire press conference below, which included the entire cast taking a selfie with a selfie stick, manned by Independence Day alum Jeff Goldblum.
