'Star Wars' tickets are already on sale — if you can get them

The Force may be awakening, but movie ticket websites are crashing.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens isn't in theaters until the evening of Dec. 17, but fans quickly nabbed seats for the first shows, which went on sale just before 8 p.m. ET Monday. They were originally announced to be available just after the trailer launch at halftime of ESPN's Monday Night Football.

There was so much interest that sites such as Fandango.com, AMCTheatres.com, MovieTickets.com and others slowed to a crawl, if they worked at all.

Not surprisingly, folks took to social media to complain about this disturbance in the Force.
