Redmayne and wife Hannah are expecting first child, reports say
British Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne will soon have something else to be thrilled about: His first child.
Redmayne and his bride of one year, Hannah Bagshawe, are expecting their first baby, according to People, E! and US Weekly, plus British media reports.
Redmayne and Bagshawe, both 33, were married in December 2014, just a month before he won a best-actor Oscar for playing Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything.
Now he could be an Oscar contender again for The Danish Girl, in which he plays one of the first people to ever undergo transgender surgery, in the 1930s.
That would make him the first actor since Tom Hanks in 1993-1994 to win back-to-back Oscars.
While promoting Danish Girl, Redmayne has described how much he's enjoying married life.
“It’s been extraordinary. It’s been the most wonderful whirlwind,” he told People, adding that his wife "is an absolute saint. And it’s a ride for both of us."
Meanwhile, he's also working on another film. He's the new face of the Harry Potter franchise, having taken on the role of Newt Scamander in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, now filming in London.
After that?
"That's a question you'll have to ask my wife," he told Paste BN this week. "I'm like, 'I'm going to take months off!' She's like, 'You always say that.' And then you get sort of itchy feet."
But this news might keep his feet closer to home.
