'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' begins production, adds Kurt Russell

The Guardians are getting hooked on a feeling again.

Marvel announced Wednesday that the sequel to the 2014 smash hit Guardians of the Galaxy has officially begun production. The original five Guardians are all returning for the sequel, including Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora) Dave Bautista (Drax), Vin Diesel (voice of Groot), Bradley Cooper (voice of Rocket). Director James Gunn shared a first look photo of the five-some on his Twitter:

Other returning cast members include Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, and Sean Gunn as Kraglin.

The sequel also added Kurt Russell to its lineup, although it was not revealed who the actor would be playing. Pom Klementieff (known for the 2013 Oldboy), Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby and Everest) and Chris Sullivan (The Knick) will also join the cast. Gunn revealed that Klementieff would be playing Mantis, a hero associated with the Guardians in the comics.
