Kirsten Dunst, Donald Sutherland join Cannes jury
Cannes Film Festival organizers revealed Monday that Spider-Man star Kirsten Dunst and Donald Sutherland will join the festival jury.
The full jury list, announced on the Cannes festival website, also includes Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen (star of TV's Hannibal and villainous Le Chiffre in 2006's Casino Royale) as well as French singer/actress Vanessa Paradis (known to many Americans as Johnny Depp's former partner).
Hungarian writer and director László Nemes, whose Holocaust film Son of Saul wowed the 2015 Cannes Festival and took the Grand Prix prize, was also named to the jury. Son of Saul went on to win an Academy Award for best foreign language film in February.
The group will join jury president George Miller to select the festival's highest honor, the coveted Palm d'or award. The Cannes festival runs May 11 to 22.
