'Star Wars' launches new line of high-end authentic props

Those yearning to channel their inner Kylo Ren and keep a melted Darth Vader helmet on their table are in luck.
Disney and Lucasfilm have launched a new line of high-end replicas with Star Wars Collectibles: Ultimate Studio Edition, starting with iconic props from Star Wars: The Force Awakens fans can order exclusively online.
Fashioned to be identical to their cinematic counterparts, the products are made to order by craftspeople at the Propshop in England’s Pinewood Studios using digital data from the movie combined with 3-D printing technology.
“Designed, made and finished by the hands of specialist motion-picture prop makers and artists, we’ve worked extremely hard to create something that we know would make fans and filmmakers proud,” says James Enright, assets director and CEO of Propshop.

The first wave of replicas, which come with custom display pedestals, include Vader’s burned headpiece (priced at $3,500) seen in The Force Awakens and the signature helmet ($2,000) and crossguard lightsaber hilt ($1,250) of star Adam Driver’s villainous Kylo Ren.
Fans of Daisy Ridley’s new Jedi heroine Rey can purchase the staff ($1,250) like the one she used on as a scavenger on Jakku as well as her lightsaber hilt ($1,250). For other Resistance lovers, there’s the X-wing helmet ($1,500) of Oscar Isaac’s pilot Poe Dameron, the Bowcaster ($2,500) wielded by Peter Mayhew’s Chewbacca, and the bloody Stormtrooper helmet ($1,750) worn at the beginning of Force Awakens by John Boyega’s Finn.
