Reports: David Ayer, Margot Robbie will reunite for 'Gotham City Sirens' movie
David Ayer is assembling a new squad.
The director — who helmed Warner Bros.' box office smash Suicide Squad — will direct the forthcoming Gotham City Sirens movie, with Margot Robbie reprising her role as fan-favorite Harley Quinn alongside other DC villainesses, The Hollywood Reporter and Variety report. Robbie will also serve as an executive producer on the project.
Sirens is based on the Gotham City Sirens comic book series, which ran from 2009-2011. The series centered around Quinn as well as Catwoman, a notorious jewel thief, and Poison Ivy, a former botanist-turned-eco-terrorist.
Geneva Robertson-Dworet, whose writing credits include Dungeons & Dragons, Warner Bros.’ Sherlock Holmes 3 and the Tomb Raider reboot, will pen the screenplay, according to THR.
Sirens does not yet have a release date.
