Singer Morrissey hospitalized in Michigan
Billboard is reporting that British rock veteran Morrissey has been hospitalized in Royal Oak, Mich., after canceling a concert Thursday in nearby Flint.
A representative for the former Smiths frontman said that he was admitted to the William Beamont Hospital, and is undergoing tests for a suspected bladder infection.
The concert, like several of Morrissey's recent dates, had actually been rescheduled previously — from last year, when the singer/songwriter interrupted a tour in October in order to spend time with his ailing mother.
A previous release indicated that Morrissey canceled Thursday's show and postponed two additional ones due to a "band illness." It was expected that the tour would resume Monday, but it's not yet clear whether his condition will require a further delay.
