Franz Ferdinand to release new album on Aug. 27

The right time for Franz Ferdinand to release its new album, Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action, is Aug. 27.

The U.K. quartet's first work since 2009 was recorded in Scotland, London, Stockholm and Oslo over the course of a year. The band still has the original lineup: Alex Kapranos, Nick McCarthy, Bob Hardy and Paul Thomson.

In a news release, Kapronos offered up this mysterious description: "The Intellect vs. The Soul, played out by some dumb band."
