NASHVILLE — Kip Moore played for his biggest crowd ever Friday night, performing in front of more than 60,000 people at LP Field. The singer of Somethin' 'Bout a Truck and Hey Pretty Girl appeared the CMA Music Festival's stadium bill for the first time, part of a lineup that also included Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum, Hunter Hayes and Randy Travis, along with surprise appearances from Sheryl Crow and Jason Mraz.
"It was everything I thought it would be," Moore said afterwards. "It was an out-of-body experience, pretty much. It was almost like I was onstage visualizing every dive that I've played in, every person that wouldn't listen to me. It was worth everything — all the time and effort you put into it — for that moment. It was a beautiful thing."
Moore had another career highlight in the backstage press room Friday, receiving a plaque commemorating 2 million downloads of tracks from his debut album, Up All Night.
