Tenacious D announces fall Festival Supreme
Jack Black has a big secret. It involves Adam Sandler, Sarah Silverman, Tenacious D and a golden toilet.
It's Festival Supreme, the comedy and music festival that he and his Tenacious D bandmate, Kyle Gass, are throwing Oct. 19 on the Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica, Calif. "Over the years, Kyle and I have been putting together comedy benefit shows when there were big tragedies, like the tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, Haiti," says Black. "We thought, why don't we get all the powers together just for fun, just to blow people's minds?"
With a lineup that includes Sandler, Silverman, Zach Galifianakis, Fred Armisen and Triumph the Insult Dog, that's exactly what they're going to do. "I'm looking forward to seeing what Adam has up his sleeve. Every time he sings a song, it becomes iconic," says Black. "I also want to see Triumph. I imagine trembling silent stares, a little fog machine. He might poop on stage."
Pre-sale starts Wednesday at 1 p.m. ET (password is SUPREME on Ticketmaster.com) and tickets will be released to the public on Friday (1 p.m. ET), starting at $99. For that price, fans can stroll to the end of the pier to check out the puppetry stage or see one-man shows.
And the golden toilets? "The golden toilets are in the VIP area ($250) and have their own staff," jokes Black. "They're germ-free, most importantly, and we use just a tiny bit of butter for smoothness."
The golden toilets aren't actually golden, by the way. "I mean, you're at a festival. Use the toilet. You'll be fine," Black says. "If you're really particular about those things, like you only want to use the toilet at home, then it'll be worth the money to use the golden toilets."
Golden toilets or Porta-Potties, Black assures a good time for all. "There will be a special guest or guests joining us onstage. I can't tell you who, when or why, though," he says. "But it's going to be awesome."
