How did Britney Spears' Las Vegas debut go?

Britney Spears didn't actually perform at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas on Tuesday night, she just made an appearance there, signing a few autographs for more than 1,000 fans, according to Billboard.com. She doesn't kick off her two-year residency until Dec. 27, which will be held in a smaller theater, where table and bottle service is available.

She was also greeted by fire-breathers, contortionists and snake charmers on the red carpet. To make room for the star, her convoy of black Cadillac Escalades and fans, the Strip closed down a block.

In a tight black dress with a rhinestone top, Spears signed a few autographs before walking the red carpet, passing under a 6-foot-tall, pink foam sign of her name and accepting a bunch of red roses.

"I'm so happy to be here right now. This is my city. I can't wait to see you guys opening night," she said.
