Whew! Zayn Malik reunites with One Direction
All is right with the 1D world again.
Zayn Malik, one of the five hot boy banders in One Direction, was noticeably absent on Today on Monday in Orlando.
During an interview, Matt Lauer asked where he was.
"He's got a tummy bug so he's not very well," explained 1D member Liam Payne. "We only found out this morning so we're really sad, he is as well, that he can't be here for our album release… It's still going to be a great day, I'm sure."
But Lauer didn't let it go at that. He said, "Is it something more serious than just a minor illness? There have been rumors of substance abuse. What's going on?"
Payne said, "No, he's just got a stomach bug. He's OK. He's just at home. He needs to rest."
Malik was well enough to take the stage on Tuesday night in Orlando, joining Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan.
Fans were happy, after raising eyebrows about the drug question.
But Malik was ticked, according to Britain's Sun, which quoted him as saying, "I'm really angry and upset by what was said on The Today Show. I was really ill at the weekend, that's why I couldn't fly to America."
He tweeted a cheerful note to fans.
