Ed Sheeran is Spotify's most streamed of 2014


Sing on, Ed Sheeran.

The British singer/songwriter has been named the most-streamed artist of 2014, tallying more than 860 million streams worldwide on Spotify. His sophomore album x, released in June, is also the most-played album with more than 430 million streams globally.

Pharrell Williams had the most-streamed track in the world with this year's early smash Happy, racking up more than 260 million streams on Spotify. Stateside, Iggy Azalea's Fancy was the most-streamed song with nearly 166 million plays to date.

Katy Perry nabbed the title of most-streamed female on Spotify from Rihanna, while Coldplay was dubbed the most-played group. Eminem remains the most-streamed artist in the U.S., followed by Drake, Kanye West, Lana Del Rey and Ariana Grande.

Meanwhile, rising artist Hozier locked down the most viral track in the U.S. with Take Me to Church, followed by other most-shared artists Glass Animals (Gooey), MisterWives (Reflections), Sylvan Esso (Coffee) and Mø (Say You'll Be There).
