U2 to launch arena tour in May
U2 is poised to hit the road next year — with all four of its members.
It was announced Wednesday that the band will start next year's iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour May 14, in Vancouver. The group is set to perform in indoor arenas for the first time in a decade, visiting 19 cities, with at least a pair of shows at each stop. Tickets go on sale to the general public Dec. 8.
"We are going to try to have a completely different feeling from night one to night two," said Bono, who has been recovering from injuries sustained in a bicycle accident, adding U2 would "have some fun playing with the idea of innocence and experience. More to be revealed!"
Special concerts are also being planned for Dublin at the end of 2015, to benefit the U2-initiated Music Generation project. Details are pending.
