Imagine Dragons talk tour, 'Fight Club' and Johnny Cash
Not to play into stereotypes, but some dragons are fans of fire.
The flames alt-rockers Imagine Dragons are into, however, rise from country legend Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire. That's just one of the facts the band teased in a Q&A with fans on Paste BN Life's Facebook page Wednesday evening.
During the half-hour chat, the quartet left fans salivating with personal tidbits, jokes and, most torturously, by teeing up a major announcement for Feb. 5 – something to do with an upcoming tour.
"See you very soon on the road. We will be live broadcasting a big announcement tomorrow. Tune in," the band wrote in their send-off.
Fan Adam Alesch asked if they'd be traveling around the U.S. in 2015. "You'll find out tomorrow," lead singer Dan Reynolds said.
Another asked if they'd be heading to Virginia, to which drummer Daniel Platzman kidded, "Does D.C. count? If so, no. Just joking, if so, yes."
But touring wasn't the only thing on people's minds. Everything from movie tastes (Reynolds likes Fight Club), trips to Buffalo and Lebanese food also came up in the 1,000-plus Facebook questions.
On Thursday, they followed through with their big tease, announcing the SMOKE + MIRRORS TOUR. It's scheduled to hit Boston, Chicago, Toronto and 36 others from June to August this summer.
They'll be joined by Canadian rock group Metric and up-and-comer Hasley and tickets will be available starting Feb.17 – the same day their second album, Smoke + Mirrors, drops.
