Music overflows into Grammys' commercial time

As if the Grammy Awards telecast isn't already packed with performances, now the live music is seeping into the commercials too. Target announced on its Twitter account tonight that it is ceding paid-for commercial time to air a performance from an Imagine Dragons concert.

The department store chain calls this a first-of-its-kind event for the Grammys show (8 p.m. ET/PT Sunday on CBS).

Imagine Dragons are promoting their new album, Smoke + Mirrors, to be released on Feb. 17. The band won a Grammy in 2013 for best rock performance for the song Radioactive, from debut album Night Visions, which sold nearly 4 million copies worldwide.

In other Imagine Dragons news this week, the band announced its 39-city 2015 North American tour, kicking off June 3 in Portland, Ore., and wrapping up Aug. 1 in Boise, Idaho.

The band also answered questions from fans this week in a special chat on Paste BN Life's Facebook page.
