Janet Jackson's back with new album, tour
Janet Jackson has officially re-emerged from semi-retirement.
Billboard reports that the multi-platinum singer and '90s superstar took to Twitter on Saturday, her 49th birthday, to announce plans for her first new studio album since 2008's Discipline and an accompanying world tour.
"I promised you'd hear it from my lips, and now you will," she explained in a video post. "This year: new music; new world tour; a new movement. I've been listening. Let's keep the conversation going."
Jackson had been keeping an exceedingly low profile the past few years since marrying Qatari business magnate Wissam Al Mana in 2012. She recently stepped out in public with him in Milan.
