Winners' list: Underwood rules CMT Awards
NASHVILLE — Carrie Underwood may have been making her first awards-show appearance since her son, Isaiah, was born in February, but she hadn't lost a step. She owned the CMT Music Awards Wednesday, performing her single Little Toy Guns and leaving with three awards, including video of the year for Something in the Water.
Underwood now has 13 of the CMT "Buckles," the most for any artist.
"I have the best fans in the world, I really do," she said in her acceptance speech for top video. "I mean, Country music has the best fans in the world, but I definitely have the best of the best of the best."
Other performers at Wednesday's show, a live telecast from Bridgestone Arena on the eve of the CMA Music Festival, included Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, Eric Church and Lady Antebellum with EDM DJ/producer Zedd.
