Grohl undergoes surgery; Foos cancel shows

Foo Fighters singer Dave Grohl underwent surgery to repair his broken right leg, the band reported on its website Tuesday.

Doctors have ordered Grohl to rest up at least through the end of the month, forcing the band to scratch the rest of their June dates in the UK and Europe.

His expected recuperation time is still unknown but they have not yet pulled the plug on the American leg of their Sonic Highways tour, which is scheduled to kick off with a 20th anniversary show at Washington, D.C.'s RFK Stadium.
