Surprise! Radiohead's new album is out Sunday

The spring of surprise releases is in full bloom.

Radiohead will release its long-awaited new album digitally on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET/ 11 a.m. PT, the band announced in a press release Friday. The album, whose title is still unknown, will be given a physical release on June 17.

The announcement comes just days after the band returned with frantic, strings-laden single Burn the Witch, which was accompanied by a disconcerting Claymation clip.

On Friday, they released yet another new song, Daydreaming, whose video is directed by Paul Thomas Anderson (There Will Be Blood). The haunting piano track follows frontman Thom Yorke as he deliriously wanders in and out of various buildings and landscapes, culminating in what seems to be a snowy slumber.

The album is Radiohead's first since 2011's King of Limbs. The English rockers will play a slew of shows in support of the new music this summer, including festival sets at Lollapalooza and Outside Lands, and headlining concerts in New York and Los Angeles.

Radiohead is the latest act to surprise with an album announcement or release so far this spring, joining the likes of Drake, Beyoncé, Kanye West, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, and James Blake.
