Sam the Snowman famously sang “Silver and Gold” on the 1964 TV special, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”

Now, Pauly “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio of “Jersey Shore” fame has just released “Silver & Gold,” a new hip-hop trap-beat track full of self reliance. James Kaye of Los Angeles raps on the song and Sean Ross is the producer.

“Sean introduced me to an upcoming artist/songwriter he was working with named James Kaye and the three of us hit it off creatively and started coming up with more song ideas together,” Pauly D told Variety.  “I loved how James sounded on an idea we had for ‘Silver & Gold.’ We played around with it and formatted a few things until it sounded perfect.”

The song got a big response when Pauly D recently played a snippet of it at the The Pool at Harrah’s in Atlantic City, according to Variety.

It's a bit of a musical departure for Pauly D, who previously released the EDM  tracks “Back to Love” with Jay Sean and “Night of My Life” with Dash in 2012.
