Vigil for Christina Grimmie set for Monday in New Jersey

EVESHAM, N.J.—Christina Grimmie’s hometown will hold a candlelight vigil Monday night to honor the singer, who was fatally shot after a concert in Florida.

Evesham Mayor Randy Brown said the vigil will begin at 8:45 p.m. Monday at the town's Memorial Complex, 984 Tuckerton Road, Marlton in New Jersey.

Grimmie, 22, was killed Friday night as she signed autographs after a show in Orlando.

Authorities said she apparently had no personal connection to the man who shot her, 27-year-old Kevin James Loibl of St. Petersburg, Fla. The gunman fatally shot himself after being tackled by her brother.

Grimmie was a YouTube star who was widely known from her appearances on NBC's "The Voice" two years ago. She lived in Evesham and attended Marlton's Cherokee High School before moving to southern California in 2012.
