Broadway's 'Spider-Man' saga ends out of court

One of the longest-running offstage dramas in Broadway history appears to have finally reached its conclusion.

It was announced on Wednesday that producers of the hit musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark had reached a settlement in their legal battle with Julie Taymor, who co-conceived the show and was its original director. The feud took shape after Taymor was essentially fired in March 2011, after highly publicized mishaps and general negative buzz.

The suit involved not only profits but copyright claims and creative credit sought by Taymor. Terms of the settlement were not made public.

In a release issued by the show's publicist, Rick Miramontez, producers Michael Cohl and Jeremiah Harris said in a joint statement that they were "happy to put all this behind us. We are now looking forward to spreading Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark in new and exciting ways around the world."

And Taymor said, in the same release, "I'm pleased to have reached an agreement and hope for the continued success of , both on Broadway and beyond."
