E.L. James hangs out with 'Fifty Shades' star in NYC

Things got intimate between Fifty Shades of Grey author E.L. James and actress Dakota Johnson in New York on Sunday.

Well, not that kind of intimate, but the two did spend some time getting to know each other. The two apparently hit it off; James posted a photo of them with producer Dana Brunetti on Twitter, describing Johnson as "beautiful, talented, funny as feck."

At least someone likes the casting — when Johnson and actor Charlie Hunnam were announced as the leads in next year's film adaptation of the popular novel, some loyal fans went, well, berserk.

But James defended the choices, tweeting, "To all the supporters, lovers and haters - thank you so much for the passion that you have for this project. You all rock. All of you. ?"
