Reports: DiCaprio to play Woodrow Wilson in biopic

Leonardo DiCaprio could soon be sitting in the Oval Office.

The Great Gatsby actor will take on the role of President Woodrow Wilson in a biopic based on the 28th president's two terms, according to The Hollywood Reporter and E! News. DiCaprio had been attached to the project as a producer with Appian Way, and now he's adding the leading role to his credits.

The movie will be based on A. Scott Berg's book Wilson, released last week, which looks back at important events in Wilson's tenure, including leading the nation through World War I.

DiCaprio has a penchant for period pieces taking place in the early 20th century — he's done Titanic, J Edgar, The Aviator and most recently, The Great Gatsby.

But in his latest film, he'll transport to the world of '90s excess in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street, out Nov. 15.
