Kim Novak takes a beating on Twitter

Ouch.

Actress Kim Novak, 81, took the Oscar stage with Matthew McConaughey Sunday night, and she had the unfortunate job of presenting the award for best animated feature.

The winner: Frozen.

Twitter erupted with jokes about plastic surgery, noting that Novak's face looked "frozen."

And then fans of the Vertigo actress began bashing the snarkers, saying that Novak, who has battled mental illness and cancer and suffered a terrible horse riding accident, deserves respect.
