Celeb superlatives: Katy Perry's all about football now
Think high school yearbook superlatives — if Ashton Kutcher and Katy Perry were classmates.
Most out-of-nowhere, over-the-top football fanatic: Katy Perry
The singer hit up Oxford, Miss., for her first college football game — and she sure did it right. Perry appeared on ESPN's College GameDay last weekend, where she threw a corn dog at the camera, declared her affection for Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight and chugged a beer in a bar in true college fashion. Now that's school spirit. And all this football fanaticism ended up foreshadowing the announcement this week that the singer will perform at the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show.
Most Punk'd-worthy baby announcement: Ashton Kutcher
Leave it to Kutcher to punk us all. Shortly after it was revealed that he and Mila Kunis welcomed a baby girl, he took to his Web page, Aplus.com, to share some details. "Mila and I would like to welcome Wyatt Isabelle Kutcher to the world," he wrote. "May your life be filled with wonder, love, laughter, health, happiness, curiosity, and privacy." What follows is a series of photos of babies and two shaggy animals. "Can you guess which one is ours, or does it really matter? All babies are cute." Which leaves us to guess which baby — if any — is Kutcher and Kunis' offspring.
Most skillful keeping of a secret: Ellen Pompeo
The actress recently announced she has a new daughter, Sienna, born via surrogate — but she told Jimmy Kimmel the baby isn't as "new" as you might think. Pompeo managed to keep the birth a secret for two months. "I felt an obligation to keep the surrogate's privacy. That was of utmost importance to me," she said.
Best shot at a second chance: John Galliano
The disgraced former Dior designer has landed a new gig — and a chance to redeem himself — after he was caught on video in 2011 slurring "I love Hitler." Galliano has joined Paris fashion house Martin Margiela as creative director, three years after being dismissed from Dior. Here's hoping he has his act together this time.
Cutest baby announcement: Blake Lively
The actress took to her lifestyle website, Preserve, to announce her and husband Ryan Reynolds' big news and share a sweet photo of herself sporting a baby bump. Lively didn't come out and say "I"m pregnant!" but the "Falling for Family" post salutes all expecting mothers — and the photo's message is pretty obvious. "Preserve at its core is about family. … Congratulations to all the expecting mothers out there." So sweet!
Most questionable comedy routine: Sarah Silverman on SNL
Just one month after Joan Rivers died, Silverman appeared on Saturday Night Live last weekend in a spoof of the comedian. Silverman impersonated Rivers in heaven, where she presided over a roast that included Benjamin Franklin, Lucille Ball, Steve Jobs, Richard Pryor, Ava Gardner, Eartha Kitt and Freddie Mercury. Too soon? Ehhh, maybe.
