Royal twins make first public appearance
Cheers erupted for two royal babies who made their first appearance for the masses on Tuesday in Monaco.
Say hi to four-week old Jacques and his big sister Gabriella. They were born on Dec. 10 at Princess Grace Hospital. Gabriella arrived two minutes before her brother, who despite being younger is the heir to the throne, by law.
Prince Albert, 56, and wife Princess Charlene, 36, proudly introduced the newborns right around 11 a.m., reports Hello magazine, and people responded with cheers, banners and balloons.
Wednesday had been declared a public holiday, and there was an overwhelming sense of celebration and excitement as more than 3,000 residents gathered below the balcony for their first sighting of the twins.
The babies slept through it all.
