TV personality and red carpet fixture Giuliana Rancic is leaving her post as E! News anchor at the end of the summer, the network announced on Wednesday.

Rancic will step down on August 10, but will continue to co-host Fashion Police and Live From the Red Carpet for the network.

"For more than a decade, I was fortunate enough to play a role in the success of E! News and will miss my family at the show," Rancic said in a statement.

The 40-year-old host said she is looking forward to focusing on other aspects of her career, including her wine and clothing lines and producing a new show for Oxygen.

"This is such a thrilling time for me, and I thank the gang at E! for understanding my desire to embark on this next chapter in my life," she said.

Rancic may have been on E! to report on A-listers, but many times she created headlines of her own.

In February, Rancic's controversial statements about Zendaya, a Disney star and former Dancing With the Stars competitor, led to Fashion Police co-host Kelly Osbourne leaving the show.

Rancic said Zendaya's dreadlocked hairstyle looked like it smelled "like patchouli oil" or "weed."

Rancic later apologized, but told Access Hollywood that the backlash from her comments lasted for months.

"I was getting threats, they are writing (son) Duke's name in these tweets and saying they were going to kill me and my family. There were a lot of gun-and-gang pictures," Rancic told Access Hollywood.

The mother of one has also faced criticism for her thin physique, which she attributes to cancer-suppressing medication she has been taking since battling breast cancer in 2011.

"It's really hurtful," Rancic told People. "Some people were saying, 'The cancer is probably back,' and they were accusing me of every eating disorder."

In April, Rancic confirmed she would be returning to Fashion Police for Emmys coverage.
