Cranston calls Trump's campaign 'refreshing'
Many celebrities have spoken out against Donald Trump and his presidential campaign since he announced earlier this year. But Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston has a different take on the whole thing. He sees Trump and his "I-don’t-give-a-(expletive)" attitude as "refreshing."
Speaking with host Chris Hardwick on the Nerdist podcast this week, when turned to the media mogul turned presidential candidate, Cranston shared his true feelings.
“I actually like his candor,” he said. He then went on to imitate Trump: “‘You’re an idiot. I’m a winner, you’re a loser.'”
Speaking seriously, Cranston said he was happy that Trump has shaken up the political landscape, since there's never been a candidate quite like him before:
"There’s something so refreshing about shaking up that world that is all about being handled and here comes this loose cannon who has terrible ideas and would be a horrible president, but there’s something great about his ‘I-don’t-give-a-(expletive)’ attitude that really kind of keeps others honest."
He summed up by saying, "I think it’s a surprise benefit to the country, actually. ... I hope he stays in for a long, long time. And just collapses that whole tent of his."
