'Arrow' actor Colton Haynes addresses 'secret gay past'

Colton Haynes isn’t putting a label on his sexuality.

But that didn't stop the former Arrow and Teen Wolf actor from going on Tumblr on Saturday to respond to speculation regarding his “secret gay past." Haynes specifically addressed one user, who posted the following message: “When I found out Colton Haynes had a secret gay past, I got so excited even though I know it makes absolutely no difference in my life.”

“Was it a secret?” the 27-year-old actor wrote. “Let’s all just enjoy life & have no regrets.”

In the aftermath of Haynes' address, fans weighed in on Twitter. A handful of social media users expressed delight at the ostensible revelation but, as a few astutely pointed out, Haynes didn't actually admit to anything. Other users also argued that sexuality is a moot issue and that Haynes' shouldn't take precedence over his professional merits.

While Haynes has kept relatively quiet about the subject of sexuality, he recently opened up about his long-standing battle with anxiety. In a string of tweets posted last month, Haynes shared that he has been hospitalized multiple times over the years for fainting, hyperventilation and seizures. The clinical disorder has also forced Haynes to quit jobs and isolate himself socially. Haynes ended the revelation on a positive note, however, noting that anxiety "affects more (people) than you would ever know" and stressing that "we can overcome this."
