John Lennon's killer Mark David Chapman looks like aging 63-year-old in new photo

Ahead of Mark David Chapman's parole hearing, the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision released a new mugshot of the man who shot and killed John Lennon.

In the photograph taken on Jan. 31, 2018, the 63-year-old is washed out by a bright light. His hair has visibly thinned since a previous mugshot snapped in 2013.

The Associated Press reported last week that Chapman was slated to be in front of New York's Board of Parole this week. This marks Chapman's 10th attempt to be granted parole. He was sentenced to a minimum of 20 years for Lennon's death in 1980 and has been imprisoned at Wende Correctional Facility in Alden, New York, about a half-hour east of Buffalo.

In 2016, Chapman's request for parole was denied as the board felt the crime was premeditated and "celebrity-seeking," AP reports.

Paste BN has reached out to the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision for comment.
