Former 'Price Is Right' host Bob Barker returns home from hospital, thanks concerned fans
Legendary TV game show host Bob Barker is resting at home after being hospitalized earlier this week due to back pain.
Barker, 94, who was transported by paramedics Monday to Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, returned to his Hollywood Hills home on Tuesday. Through a representative, he told fans he's recovering and expressed appreciation for their interest and support.
"He's home, he's resting, he's comfortable," William Prappas, Barker's business manager, told Paste BN Wednesday. "He wants to thank all his fans and those (who have) been reaching out. He wants to let them know he's resting and on the road to recovery."
Barker's back pain stemmed from an earlier back injury.
Barker, who became a TV institution hosting CBS' "The Price Is Right" from 1972 to 2007, has appeared as himself in numerous films and TV shows, including "Happy Gilmore," "How I Met Your Mother" and "Yes, Dear," according to IMDb. The longtime animal rights activist appeared in 2014 on CBS' "The Bold and the Beautiful" for a story dealing with animal rescue.
Barker made a surprise return to "The Price Is Right" in 2015, joining current host Drew Carey for an April Fool's edition of the long-running game show.
