A pair of best stable buddies were finally reunited after more than a week apart.

The two horses, Leo and Lou, were rescued from kill pens after being mistreated and abandoned by their owner when they became too old and sick to work. In terrible condition, the animals were taken to Bravehearts Equine Center in Paris, Kentucky, where they were slowly nursed back to health.

During their rehab, the two horses became the best of friends. So, when Lou was suddenly rushed to the veterinary hospital with a stomach issue, his bestie was left sad and confused.

For over a week, Leo pined for his pal. Then, finally, a surprise! Lou was brought home, happy and healthy, to the obvious delight of his best buddy.
