Dog stuck almost 15 feet inside North Carolina storm drain rescued by firefighters: Watch
A dog stuck almost 15 feet inside a storm drain was rescued by more than a dozen rescuers in North Carolina.
Video footage from the incident shows rescue officials gathered around the drain in Raleigh with equipment set up to hoist the dog out of the drain, as the dog's barks can be heard coming from inside the drain. Andrew Davis, Raleigh Professional Firefighters Association Local 548 president, told Paste BN on April 25 that 13 firefighters were involved in the operation, adding the agency's special operation units set up a tripod to lower a firefighter into the storm drain to retrieve the pet.
Raleigh Professional Fire Fighters Association, in a post on Facebook, said the incident occurred around 1:45 p.m. on April 19.
"'Dagger' the dog is doing wonderful since his escapade in the storm drain," Davis said, adding the pet was ecstatic to be reunited with his owners.
Pictures shared by the department show Dagger receiving cuddles from his owners.
Details on the dog's breed, age and how he ended up in the drain were not known, Davis said.
