Daniel Craig, David Oyelowo to pair off-Broadway in 'Othello'

Daniel Craig and David Oyelowo will lend some serious star power to a new off-Broadway production of Othello.

It was announced Monday that the theater-trained English film stars will join forces for a New York Theatre Workshop staging of the Shakespeare tragedy in fall of 2016. Oyelowo will play the title role and Craig -- who last appeared on the New York stage in a 2013 Broadway revival of Harold Pinter's Betrayal also starring his wife, Rachel Weisz -- has been cast as über-villain Iago.

Sam Gold, a NYTW veteran and a Tony Award winner for Fun Home, will direct, with further casting to be announced at a later date.
